SUMMARY:Get Fit in Graz / Pro Aktiv Forest Meditation Walk
DESCRIPTION:IWA “Get Fit in Graz” forest meditation walk in the Leechwald \nIn 2024\, the IWA entered a collaboration with the Verein Jukus to participate the ‘Pro Aktiv’ project\, which promotes movement in everyday life and creates awareness of the connection between exercise\, health\, and well-being. Our members’ interest in Pro Aktiv inspired us to create our ‘Get Fit in Graz’ group\, where we motivate one another to do more sports and movement activities. \nWe invite you to join us on this special Pro Aktiv / IWA walk in the Leechwald forest on May 13. \nWe will meet at the Tram 1 end stop (Mariatrost) at 9:45 a.m. and walk up to the Mariatrost Basilica\, then continue along the Roseggerweg through the Leechwald forest to the Hilmteich pond. In between\, we will take time for breathing and stretching exercises. \nLisa G. and Alena S. from the Jukus Verein will lead this walk and talk about the project.  \nNote about the location: \nAt the Hilmteich\, you can either take Tram 1 or Bus 58 back into the city. The Purberg Café is also right by the Hilmteich\, and members can enjoy a drink after the walk or have a picnic in the meadow. Partners\, guests\, and children are welcome on this walk. The walk (length: 3.7 km\, mostly flat terrain\, approx. 1.5 hours) is generally suitable for young children and prams. SUMMARY:Get Fit with IWA: Walk from Mariatrost Basilica through Leechwald Forest to Purberg (Hilmteich)
DESCRIPTION:Lets meet up at the final stop /terminus of tram #1 (“Mariatrost”) at 10 am to take a fairly easy walk along the Roseggerweg path which goes past “Häuserl im Wald” to Hilmteich pond. The walk should take us 1½ hrs. It is suitable for baby buggies and strollers. There is an option of having a brunch at Purberg (at individual cost) to connect & socialise. As it is a daytime event on a public holiday spouses and children are welcome. \nLet’s get fit together! The walk is quite shady and mostly (slightly) downhill. \nPlease sign up and indicate if you would like to participate in the brunch & for how many persons we should reserve a table. Please RSVP by close of business on Friday 17th May.
